Terms and conditions
These terms apply when you buy from A Tale for You, which is run by Hellström Group AB (org. no. 559583-2105, VAT reg. no. SE559583210501) ("we"). By paying, you accept them. Please read them before you order; if you have any questions, you are welcome to contact us.
1. What you are buying
- eBook: a personalised picture book created from your choices and your photos, as a PDF and to read in your web browser.
- Printed products: hardback book, colouring book, card, canvas print and birthday calendar, made from your book.
- Audiobook: the story read by an AI-generated narrator voice, as an add-on to the hardback book or on its own. The audiobook plays in the browser and can be downloaded for personal use, for two years from the order. Every hardback copy of the story gets an extra page with a QR code that plays it. Bought on its own, it is created straight after payment at your express request, and your right of withdrawal then ends. It may not be passed on or used commercially, and the service may be temporarily unavailable.
2. Books created with AI
Texts and pictures are created with AI. The result is unique to each book and may vary; a picture may differ from the photo or from what you had in mind. You can change the texts and ask for new pictures once the book is ready, before you order printed products. The audiobook’s narrator voice is made with AI text-to-speech and is not a human voice; minor variations in pronunciation, intonation or accent are not a fault.
3. Price and payment
Prices are stated in CAD. Shipping, and sales tax where it applies, are shown at checkout before you pay. Payment is taken by our payment provider when you place your order.
4. Right of withdrawal and cancellation
The eBook is created straight after payment, at your express request. When you buy, you confirm that your right of withdrawal ends as a result (the Swedish Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act, distansavtalslagen, chapter 2, section 11, point 11).
Printed products are made to your instructions and therefore carry no right of withdrawal (chapter 2, section 11, point 3). For two hours after payment you can nevertheless cancel an order for printed products in your account and get the full amount back; during the same time you can change the book. After that the order goes to the printer.
5. Delivery
Printed products are printed in 3–10 working days and sent with tracked delivery to the address you give, within the countries that can be selected at checkout. The risk for the goods passes to you when you have received them. Please check your address: if the parcel does not arrive because the address was wrong, you pay to have it sent again.
6. Faults and complaints
If a product is damaged or wrongly printed, or does not arrive, contact us within a reasonable time, preferably with a picture. We will reprint it and send a new one, or refund you. This does not apply to content you have approved, such as text and pictures you have seen in the book before ordering. A picture that does not look exactly like the photo, printed shades that differ slightly from the screen, or edges trimmed slightly when the book is cut are not faults. You always have your rights under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act (konsumentköplagen).
7. Your photos and your book
You confirm that you have the right to use the photos you upload, and that you are the parent or guardian of any children in the photos, or have their permission. The book is yours to use privately. You may not sell it, publish it or use it commercially. We never show your book publicly without your written consent. How we handle the data is described in the privacy policy.
8. Content that is not allowed
You may not use the service for content that offends others or is unlawful, or with photos of people who have not given their consent. Nor may you use characters, brands or logos that belong to others. We may refuse or remove such content and cancel the order.
9. Refer a friend
Anyone who has bought an eBook receives a personal link. A new customer – an email address that has not bought a book before – gets their first eBook free through the link. The person who shared the link receives a free eBook, valid for one year, once the friend has created their eBook through the link; it is deducted at the next purchase made while logged in. You can receive at most ten free eBooks a year; a friend who buys after that still pays half price. The discount applies once per recipient and cannot be exchanged for money. We may stop links that are misused. We may change or end the offer; free eBooks you have already received remain valid.
10. Account
Your books stay in your account for as long as you have it, so that you can read, download and order them. You can delete your account at any time; your books, photos and recordings are then deleted.
11. Changes to the terms
We may change the terms. A purchase follows the terms that applied when you paid.
12. Disputes
Please contact us first and we will sort it out. Otherwise you can turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, arn.se). Swedish law applies. If you live in another country, you keep the protection its law gives you, and you can always take a dispute to a court where you live.
